How to Upcycle Éminence Containers

Upcycling is so important to us, the reason being, we only have one planet, and it's our job to take care of it. We do our best to ensure that all our packaging materials are recycled, non-toxic, and recyclable. We want to give you the tools and knowledge to find a new purpose for the containers at home or work.

Want to learn more ways to contribute to the well-being of our planet? Here are some innovative upcycle ideas for re-using Eminence packaging:

Bathroom Organizers

The Eminence masque and moisturizer jars make the perfect organization tool for your home. Once all your Eminence product is gone, you can transform this container into your q-tip, hair tie, or pins and paper clip holder. Simplify your bathroom routine with your favorite Eminence product container.

Lunch and Condiment Containers

Take your favorite fruits, nuts, or any bite-sized snack to work with you in that moisturizer jar you were going to throw out. Our sample-sized jars (also found in your Eminence Organic Starter Sets) are the perfect size for packing your condiments for your work lunch. A salad with no dressing, who wants that? Just fill up one of these mini jars with your favorite side sauce (avocado ranch, anyone?), and you've contributed to saving our planet, and you're set for lunch.

Travel Cosmetics Jar

Not sure where to store your favorite skincare products? The double-sided Balancing Masque Duo jar, when empty, is a perfect container to pack your cleanser and moisturizer. These two in one container make packing your self-care products more convenient. Don't bother with tiny individual jars when you're on vacation.

PRO TIP: Bring a starter set for your toiletry bag.

Stationery Case

Take your sun-defense mineral foundation SPF 30 and toss it in your purse. Make way for your lovely pens and pencils, and add this beautiful reclaimed pine box as decor for your office space. Fill it up, and you'll never have to search for missing pens again. This beautiful multi-purpose case can also serve as a makeup brush holder—no more digging through your makeup bag for your brushes. Slip them in your sun defense case and place the box on your vanity.

DIY Soy Candle

Your empty Biodynamic glass jars are perfect for a DIY soy candle. Eminence gave this simple DIY soy candle recipe:

What you need:

  • Soy wax flakes
  • Candle wicks
  • Empty glass jars (Eminence used the glass jars from the Biodynamic® Collection)
  • Essential oils
  • Dried herbs (optional)
  • A hot glue gun (glue dots are another option, and they're available at most craft supply stores)
  • Metal saucepan
  • A glass measuring cup (or another heat-safe container for pouring)
  • Strips of cardboard/reinforced paper
  • Scissors
  • Wooden spoon

The Steps:

  • Use a hot glue gun to glue the candle wicks to the bottom of your glass jars. Once in place, cut the wicks to size.
  • Heat the soy flakes on the stovetop on low heat. Stir intermittently. Make sure not to leave the melting wax unattended.
  • Once the wax has melted completely, remove the saucepan from the stove. Be careful not to overheat.
  • Transfer a portion of melted wax into the glass measuring cup.
  • Add 4-5 drops of essential oil (depending on how strong you would like the scent to be). Mix through with a wooden spoon. *You also have the option to add dried herbs to the hot wax mixture at this step. For our mason jar candle, we added dried lavender.
  • Slowly pour the wax into glass jars (up to approximately 5mm from the top).
  • Continue steps 4-6 until all of the melted wax has been used.
  • Lay candles on a flat surface and let them cool for several hours before burning. Once the candles have cooled, you may also want to trim the wicks as needed.

What to do when your candles are complete? Put on your favorite Eminence masque, light your candle, and relax in your at-home spa.
